The International Sea Turtle Society (ISTS) is offering a new grant in 2026. The Student Research Grant is open to undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled in an institution of higher education (e.g., college or university) and who are conducting research that supports the ISTS Mission. Successful applicants will receive up to $1,000 USD, with up to four students receiving an award each year. In 2026, applications must be received by 15th January. The ISTS also offers a Community Grant (https://www.internationalseaturtlesociety.org/awards/community-grant-program/) and Innovation Grant (https://www.internationalseaturtlesociety.org/awards/innovation-grant-program/). The State of the World’s Sea Turtles (SWOT) also offers small grants that support sea turtle conservation work that addresses priority populations, threats, and data gaps. Another funding opportunity that might be of interest to IOTN readers is the Boyd Lyon Sea Turtle Fund that support projects that increase our understanding of sea turtle conservation, behaviour, habitats, distribution, abundance, and research diving safety.
